先日（４／１９）理事会が開催され決算案、事業報告案、予算案、事業案等が承認されました。また、総会の日取りも決定しました(５月２１日金曜日）。理事会の中で総会の参加費について、議論がなされました。
議論の内容は、参加者の増加についてです。特に今年の新年会の参加者数が見込みに対して少なかったのですが、総会は組合の中では、重要な行事なので、いかにして参加者の増加をはかるかということに意見が出ました。
意見をまとめると、
①参加費を下げて、参加を増やす。
①ー１総会費として、全組合員から一定の会費を徴収する。
①ー２参加の如何にかかわらず、参加費をとる。
①ー３総会費用の一部を、組合から補助する。
②総会の内容を、参加者が集まるようなものにする。
③泊まりをやめて、総会だけにする。
理事会の中では、全組合員から総会参加費として一定額（５，０００円）を徴収してもいいのではないかという意見が多く出ました。
一方、人数の少ない会社では平日の午後に総会に出ろと行っても出られるわけはなく、そういった会社にとては、ペナルティ的な会費徴収になり、支部会等での意見の反映もなくこの場での決定には反対という意見があり、まとまりませんでした。
結局、今回は、参加費を下げて様子を見るということで、承認されました。
いずれにしろ、参加者を増やすという問題は、今後とも頭をひねりながら取り組まなくてはいけません。

By the time most scientists have reached age thirty they are trapped by their own expertise. They have invested so much effort in one particular field that it is often extremely difficult, at that time in their careers, to make a radical change. I, on the other hand, knew nothing, except for a basic training in somewhat old fashioned physics and mathematics and an ability to turn my hand to new things.
